Lets Do This!
Alrighty folks, just a quick rundown of what I ended with last post. CancerCon.
It’s a 3-day event for young people with cancer, and their caregivers or partners, to get together and talk about things that matter to us. Thinks like, how do I pay for all of this? How/why should I save money for retirement when I’m not sure if that’s in my future? What are my fertility options? How do I move forward from this?
Cancer is terrible for everyone, and it’s even worse, when you become effected just when your life should be starting.
I know for me this year, I have made a conscious effort to start living my life. Which has meant for me to stop my line of conventional thought. Like, I need to work as much as I can so I can build up time and save money, and be saving money to buy a house, retirement, for big trips to take in the future.
My life is no longer conventional. I have decided my future starts now. I’m traveling to St. Louis this weekend to see my best homies since high school. The last of the crew is getting married, and I don’t want to miss a single THING about celebrating her and her new love.
Where in the past I would have done a major financial cleans and scrimp and save every penny, pick up extra work, and not spend money on anything but trip related items, I have simply come to terms with being in debt.
Your financially support has been the most amazing blessing in my life. I simply cannot come up with the words to thank each and every one of you for your contributions, and sacrificing for me and Dennis. My heart swells with your generosity. We seriously wouldn’t have made it this far without you. Thank you for helping to sustain us so that I can live a full life.
So I come to you again, and ask if you would please share my fundraising page
for an amazing cause that is 100% non-profit, and only recently hired a small staff. They have been volunteer run for many years, and we are hoping to get more involved as volunteers with this organization. Because I have to give back. I have to engage with others who I don’t have to explain my circumstances. Who just “get it.”
I ask for you to take a look around and let me know what you think. I’m still new to this process but I am beyond thrilled to start this new and exciting adventure, connecting with other cancer kids.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
